| Home | “The last time I got sick was 23 years ago.” |
I’m 65 years old, and I’ve been following this diet for 39 years. My wife is 54, and she’s been following it for 36 years. My 3 children have been following it their entire lives. (My oldest son is 35.) Our family has never needed health insurance, because we rarely get sick, and none of us have ever been injured often enough or severely enough to make the high cost of health insurance worthwhile.
The last time I got sick was 23 years ago. In early 1986, I visited India for the 2nd time. The first time, I didn't get sick, but this time I did. Just before we flew back to London, my wife and I got amoebic dysentery. She recovered quickly, but it took me months to recover. Since then, I haven’t gotten sick even once: not even a cold or the flu. (Knock on wood)
I’m not going to go into the reasons why you shouldn’t eat the items on the list below except to say that onions and garlic are medicines. They can help to get rid of infections by boosting your immune system (http://llbest.com/?P=4i). If you eat them all of the time, then, if and when you need to use them as medicines, they won’t have much effect.
Question: What about canned / frozen vs. fresh?
Answer: Not so important.
Question: What about organic food?
Answer: Not so important.
1. Meat
2. Fish
3. Eggs
4. Onions
5. Garlic
6. Vinegar
7. Alcohol
8. Caffeine
9. Chocolate
10. Artificial sweeteners
11. Rennet
12. Gelatin
13. Yeast (optional)
14. Mushrooms (optional)
15. Vegetable oil — Exception: Extra virgin olive oil on salads. (Frying should be done using either butter or ghee (clarified butter), not vegetable oil. “Vegetable oil is for external use only.”)
16. City tap water (Chlorine is poison. I use a Brita filter to produce water suitable for drinking, cooking, and watering the plants. If I have to drink water at the local University library, for example, I use the shorter version of the drinking fountain, the one designed for children, because it gets used less often. Therefore, the built-in filter will usually be fresher.)
17. Pills, including vitamins and even aspirin. — Exception: On a very temporary basis to get rid of a particular disease. (I used to take aspirin for headaches, but after switching to the methods described on http://llbest.com/?P=5p, I haven’t had any headaches for several years. Again, knock on wood)
