Some people say that global warming’s melting of the polar ice will cause the oceans to rise, thus causing certain coastal cities to flood.

However, scientists say that the earth’s mantle is plastic. Wouldn’t, therefore, more water in the oceans push down harder on the mantle, thus causing the ocean floor to sink and the surrounding land to rise? Wouldn’t, therefore, adding more water to the oceans not cause the sea level to rise very much, if at all?

Polar ice is rapidly melting at this very moment, but where is the evidence that ocean levels, relative to coastal cities, are rising?
